A GoFundMe account is raising money for the teenager who was shot in the face with a pellet gun on July 4 in Flagler Estates.
The minor was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to the account page, the victim’s sister organized the fundraiser, and the money will go towards medical bills and other family expenses. She said her father was unable to work out of state, which he usually does, while her sister is in the hospital.

She called the incident a “terrible accident” and said they did not know how long her sister would be in hospital.
She also wrote that her sister “is very important to us, she is a smart, beautiful, sassy young lady who is much loved and cared for. We hope she can heal and get better. So please , pray for My father will receive these funds and use them to pay for medical expenses and for necessities such as food for the house because we have a large family.
The account had raised $8,160 by Friday night.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is treating the shooting as an accident, according to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Peret Pass.
